Vectary Raises $2.5 Million in Seed Funding

VECTARY, the online 3D modeling tool and community platform, announces it has closed a $2.5 million seed round. Led by BlueYard Capital, with participation from Neulogy Ventures and several angel investors, the partnership kicks off with the arrival of the hugely anticipated VECTARY beta and its release to more than 10,000 waiting subscribers.

Vectary has set out on a mission to empower people to create incredible things in 3D. With 3D printers becoming more and more affordable and now selling in large numbers worldwide, 3D printing is driving the makers’ movement forward, yet it is still held back by the lack of easy-to-use and affordable 3D design software. VECTARY has come up with a simple, free modeling tool, which quickly and easily turns design ideas into beautiful, ready-to-print 3D models.

VECTARY stands apart from conventional 3D modeling tools and gives DIY creators and makers the means to create powerful 3D models in their browser, without the need of any engineering skills or having to install expensive and complicated legacy software. Its community-driven platform allows users to share and collaborate on designs. New users without any 3D design experience can easily get started by customizing already-existing models of other VECTARY community members.

Michal Koor, Vectary Founder and CEO said, “This funding will ensure our success, allowing us to further implement our vision to become the most widely used 3D modeling tool, and to scale quickly to new markets. There’s an increasingly large Makers community out there, mostly in the US, so the plan is to expand and cement our presence there, and in turn, attract further investments when the timing is right.”

Ciarán O'Leary, BlueYard Capital investor: "What got us excited about VECTARY was the transformational user experience of the tool, paired with the richness of a community. VECTARY’s platform can make a large contribution to democratizing 3D modeling beyond engineers, unleashing new products and markets in the process. Technologies that empower and democratize capabilities is exactly what we are looking for at BlueYard."

Over the following weeks VECTARY will continue to give more users access, getting their valuable feedback to improve the product and user experience, before opening up to everyone else late 2016.
