Star Thermoplastics Announces ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Star Thermoplastic Alloys & Rubbers, Inc. is pleased to announce it has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Management System certificate. Operating under the guidelines of ISO standards for many years, their decision to become ISO 9001:2008 certified was aimed at continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. The certification process was conducted by Perry Johnson Registrars of Troy, Michigan, in accordance with their auditing and certification procedures.

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization, and an ISO 9001:2008 certificate shows an adherence to a Quality Management System. Star Thermoplastic Alloys & Rubbers, Inc. has been certified to satisfy requirements of ISO 9001:2008 with respect to the Quality Management System governing the manufacture of products they provide to customers. This certification further strengthens their commitment to customer satisfaction and dedication to manufacturing products of the highest standard.

“This ISO 9001:2008 certification is great recognition of how our employees at Star Thermoplastics perform their work, helping to achieve what is important to our customers in a sustainable way. With the addition of a robust management system we Star Thermoplastic Alloys & Rubbers, Inc. were able to accomplish this certification in just over a year," said Greg Merchen, Plant Manager.

"Star Thermoplastics always strives to provide the highest quality product at the best value," says Thomas Dieschbourg, Founder and CEO. "We pursued ISO 9001:2008 certification in order to bring genuine value to our customers, not simply certification for the sake of a certificate. And we expect levels of excellence only to improve over the long term."

The scope of the certification extends to cover: Design, Develop, Produce, Market, Distribute, and Service Plastic and Rubber Compounds for Various Applications.

To become certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant, Star Thermoplastics underwent an evaluation process that included: quality management system development, a management system documentation review, pre-audit, initial assessment, and clearance of non-conformances, all of which work to identify corrective actions that eliminate non-conformance to the quality management standard.

Star Thermoplastics would like to take this opportunity to thank their customers and suppliers for their continued commitment and loyalty, and their staff for their ongoing teamwork and contributions.
