RAPID Launches New Part Quoting Platform

RAPID announces a new quoting solution for Rapid Machining and Rapid Sheet Metal customers. Rapid Sheet Metal will provide instant pricing and Rapid Machining will turn-around quotes within 24 hours.

To use the new quoting platform users need to log in or register for a free myRAPID account. Once in the portal, click on the Add Quote button. The customer is then prompted to choose a service, upload the CAD files, and submit the RFQ. If a part is eligible for instant pricing the part cost will appear. If the part does not fit the current instant pricing model or is a machined part a note will appear and a quote will be sent to the customer within 24 hours. Aside from the ease of quoting, the customer benefits by also being able to specify expedites, split shipments, and remove or add items to an order.

Customers using SOLIDWORKS will still be able to get instant pricing using eRAPID, a free SOLIDWORKS plug-in that provides instant costing on sheet metal parts. RAPID will still have a quote option on the website for individuals that do not create a myRAPID Account.
