Plastics Design & Moulding Exhibition & Conference 2015

Design and moulding professionals are invited to the 10th anniversary Plastics Design and Moulding Exhibition and Conference (PDM15) which returns to Telford this June with a host of new exhibitors and a wealth of learning opportunities.

Taking place at the Telford International Centre on June 16-17, 2015, the UK’s premier annual event for the plastics industry will be co-located with the new Plastics Packaging Show and the second Plastics Recycling Expo. The event has already attracted stand bookings from over 100 companies. Visitors who register for PDM will have access to the exhibition floor of all three events as well as a high quality conference programme. Industry skills shortages, EU membership, sustainable design, automotive lightweighting and 3D printing will be among the key issues tackled in the PDM Conference which also includes a number of ‘shop floor’ sessions for engineers, providing practical expertise in areas such as moulding techniques and machine care.

PDM15 exhibitors include major industry players* who have supported the show since its launch in 2005, as well as many first-time exhibitors such as Igus UK, Cad2parts, South West Polymer Supplies, Hotset UK and Kongskilde UK.

Organisers have also reported a new level of interest from overseas businesses keen to showcase their capabilities to the UK market, now regarded as the growth area in Europe. Stands have recently been booked by Italian-based M.P Srl, Austrian-based Meusburger Georg GmbH & Co Kg, Swiss company U-NICA Gruppe, 3D Design Technologies Ltd (Cad2parts Ltd) from Turkey and Luxembourg-based CODPRO.

Industry support for the PDM event continues to grow with the Society of Plastics Engineers UK & Ireland (SPE) and Rubber & Plastics Research Association (RAPRA) now joining existing partners British Plastics Federation (BPF), the Gauge & Toolmakers Association (GTMA), IOM3, Polymer Training and Innovation Centre and the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA), Polymer Society, Smithers Rapra and WRAP.

PDM’s event director Steve Crowhurst said: “PDM is a show that constantly evolves: innovative companies are discovered, new partnerships formed and cutting-edge technologies showcased for the first time. It’s where some of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing our industry are debated and provides a unique space for exhibitors and visitors to do business, network and build on their knowledge and expertise. With the addition of both PRE and PPS this year, 2015 is set to be the most diverse and exciting event in our 10-year history.”
