COMPOSITES 2013 Call for Presentations Now Open

COMPOSITES 2013, the most diverse and dynamic event in North America for all users of composite materials, has opened its Call for Presentations. Produced annually by the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA), COMPOSITES offers presenters a vital opportunity to share their expertise, advance industry knowledge and gain professional recognition. The deadline for submitting technical paper abstracts and education session descriptions is Sept. 7.

COMPOSITES 2013 will be held January 29-31 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. It is expected to draw participants from more than three dozen countries as well as the U.S. It will include an Exhibit Hall showcasing goods and services representing 40-plus market segments plus a special floor display of cutting-edge products. Innovative entries in the prestigious ACE (Award for Composites Excellence) and Pinnacle Award competitions will be in the spotlight as well.

“Education is a key component of the COMPOSITES connection with attendees,” says Marcy Offner of Composites One, chair of ACMA’s Convention Committee. “The diversity of speakers offered — including top executives, entrepreneurs, academics and research innovators as well as policy makers and regulatory experts – is unparalleled and reflects COMPOSITES’ premier position in the industry.”

“The educations sessions include how-to instruction, trouble-shooting expertise, best practice information, case studies and process assistance,” continues Offner. “The technical papers provide top-notch research on materials and products, cutting-edge applications, design protocol, code development, case histories and statistical analysis. COMPOSITES presentations aren’t just up-to-the-minute. They offer a compelling look ahead — blueprints for achieving the industry’s brightest future.”

Technical paper submissions are peer-reviewed for potential award recognition during COMPOSITES. The winner of the ACMA Best Overall Technical Paper Award for COMPOSITES 2012 was A Novel Approach to Manufacturing Foam-Filled Honeycomb Sandwich Structures. It was presented by Matthew Lowry, Director of Research and Development, M.C. Gill Corporation. This submission was also cited as the best paper in the Design and Engineering track.

COMPOSITES is backed by ACMA’s decades of organizational experience and a proven track record of delivering for attendees and exhibitors. All net profits from the event are invested back into composites industry education, advocacy and outreach. COMPOSITES provides world-class business, education and networking opportunities for anyone involved in the development and use of composite materials.
