Lattice Technology Releases XVL Player v12.0

The free XVL Player enables full viewing, measurement, markup, cross-section and animation playback. Lattice Technology’s XVL format is the industry’s most compressed 3D format with no loss of accuracy of the data. This lightweight footprint for 3D allows complex 3D data and assemblies to be viewed on lower-specification PCs and easily shared across a network or the internet. XVL Player enables access to the additional data, such as annotation, metadata, animations, assembly tree and more, embedded within the XVL format.

XVL Player v12.0 enables users to rapidly and easily access 3D models using Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. In addition, the new version includes new features to support the latest process animation authoring and mBom enhancements in XVL Studio.

The latest version of XVL Player is recommended for anyone needing to view XVL data and it can be downloaded free of charge at the Lattice Technology, Inc. website. XVL is used extensively at global manufactures to share information across departments, suppliers and customers.

The ultra-lightweight 3D XVL® format is widely used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, defense, heavy machinery, medical devices etc. where products can have a large number of parts and complex structures. It allows even the largest CAD files (often more than 1GB!) to be viewed easily on-the-go. Now, iXVL Player will allow your data to be shared and viewed on mobile devices.

iXVL Player is the new addition to the iXVL technology offered by Lattice Technology, Inc. and brings a new level of functionality to mobile 3D Data Viewing.

iXVL Player is a free application for the iPad® and iPhone® available on the App Store for sharing, viewing and interrogating 3D models. As well as viewing functions like pan, zoom, and rotate, iXVL Player provides additional features including hide/show parts, change display quality and view snapshots created with XVL Studio.

The free version, XVL Player, and XVL Player Pro are included in the update. At the same time the company also released updates for Lattice3D Reporter to Ver. 5.0 and XVL Web Master to Ver. 9.0.

The latest XVL Player Pro supports Windows Internet Explorer 9 and enhances viewer options allowing the addition of background images to models.

Lattice3D Reporter enables 3D data, with related BOM, assembly, animation and annotation data, to be embedded in an Excel spreadsheet. Version 5.0 brings a number of new features and enhancements to reports, work instructions and parts lists. Improvements have been made across the product including support for Windows Server 2008 32bit / Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit (WOW64) and Microsoft excel 2010. Additional enhancements include support for multiple workbooks, better support for optimized XVL files and more options for tailoring the product to meet individual publishing requirements.

XVL Web Master automates the creation of intelligent HTML documents combining 3D graphics, BOM and other information. Version 9.0 adds support for Windows Server 2008 32bit / Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit (WOW64). Enhanced viewing and improved illustration views are also included in this version.

The latest version of XVL Player can be downloaded from the company’s web site. Customers with current maintenance can download the updated version of XVL Player Pro, XVL Web Master and Lattice3D Reporter free of charge.

The ultra-lightweight 3D XVL format is widely used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, defense, heavy machinery, medical devices etc. where products can have a large number of parts and complex structures. Now, iXVL View will allow that data to be shared and viewed using the iPad®.

The iXVL View player will read previously captured/converted XVL files, displaying 3D models that can be rotated, panned and zoomed using the intuitive finger tip controls common in iPad® applications. XVL’s industry leading compression will allow even the largest CAD files (often more than 1GB!) to be viewed easily on all iPad® devices.

iXVL View joins the existing family of products and free players available from Lattice Technology. It will ensure that companies wanting to adopt the iPad® to distribute and share 3D data and product information can do so easily.

XVL Studio 10.0 includes a number of new features and enhancements for digital mockup process planning, work instruction authoring and technical documentation. Improvements have been made across the product including the user interface, file import/export, working with eBOM/mBOM/sBOM, creating work instructions and technical illustrations.

New and improved features of XVL Studio 10.0 include:

User Interface Improvements customized toolbars, enhanced drag and drop from Assembly Tree to Process and Disassembly Trees for faster mBOM and sBOM creation.

Auto Update Enhancements additional controls for flexibility in handling design changes and part modifications.

Digital Mock Up improved visibility for clearance and interference checks, saving part layouts in Annotation View and options to fix dimension text positions for easier collaboration.

Process Design Export equipment and tools list, addition of trace lines to work instructions output, user defined event controls for process animation, define and display text alerts during process animation.

Illustration and Parts List updated find and filter options, export raster image with SVG, improved control for exported image visibility.

At the same time Lattice Technology also released new versions of XVL Player and XVL BOM Assembler. All updates are available free of charge to maintenance customers.

XVL Studio 10.0 can be tried out as part of the Product Trial available from Lattice Technology.
