In response to Rand Worldwide’s recent announcement that it will no longer sell or support its Functional Tolerance and Annotation (FT&A) and First Article Inspection (FAI) tools, Extensible CAD Technologies announces support for CATIA V5 users needing automated inspection tools. Extensible CAD Technologies’ InspectionXpert for CATIA V5 automates the ballooning of both 2D drawings and 3D models in CATIA as well as the creation of quality inspection forms, such as first-article inspection forms, in-process inspection forms, AS9102 forms and PPAP forms for quality control inspections.

The latest version of InspectionXpert for CATIA V5, released in January, features a redesigned user interface; greatly enhanced support for AS9102 Forms 1, 2 and 3; single window integration with CATIA; the ability to save product data for easy updates to inspection projects; better control over the order and placement of balloons in CATIA drawings or models; direct publish to Net-Inspect; support for mapping CATIA user parameters to inspection report forms; and the ability to treat dimensions that are entered as notes as dimensions and extract them. InspectionXpert now supports CATIA V5 R18, R19, and R20.

On Wednesday, March 30th, from 2:00-3:00 PM EST, Extensible CAD Technologies will be offering a free webinar that will show CATIA users how they can save 90% of the time it takes to create inspection drawings and report forms using InspectionXpert for CATIA V5. Those interested can register for the webinar at https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/507023139. If you cannot attend, you can find additional information here, or by calling 800.379.0322

Extensible CAD Technologies today announced their new release of InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER. InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER is an inspection report automation and ballooning tool that extracts inspection characteristics from Pro/ENGINEER drawings and instantly exports them to inspection report forms. The new release features a completely redesigned interface and the ability to save inspection project data for later reuse or revision.

Here are a few of the key improvements:

InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER

-Retooled InspectionXpert interface for better ease-of-use and project workflow
-Inspection project data and settings can now be saved for easy reuse or revision.
-Better control over the order and placement of inspection balloons
-Automate mapping of custom attributes and project properties to inspection report forms
-Refresh Project option to automatically identify and capture drawing changes

InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER saves up to 97% of the time it takes to create a bubbled Pro/ENGINEER drawing and inspection report form, and because inspection project data can be saved, it¹s incredibly fast and easy to handle drawing revisions.

"We continue to expand the capabilities of our CAD-integrated versions of InspectionXpert to meet our client¹s needs, both in functionality and ease of use," explains President Jeff Cope. "We've also added direct integration with Net-Inspect, and are providing ways to integrate with other quality systems such as CEBOS MQ1 that are helping our clients streamline their quality processes from end to end."

The InspectionXpert product line eliminates the manual ballooning of inspection drawings and manual creation of inspection sheets for first article and in process inspections. InspectionXpert integrates with popular CAD programs including Solid Edge, CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks, and InspectionXpert First Article works with PDF and TIFF file formats.  For more information visit: http://www.inspectionxpert.com
