CimatronE 11 to Be Unveiled at IMTS

Cimatron Limited (NASDAQ and TASE: CIMT) today announced that CimatronE 11, the newest version of its integrated CAD/CAM software solution, will be unveiled at the IMTS trade show (Chicago, September 10-15, 2012).

Key productivity improvements offered by the new version include:

  • Streamlined Engineering Change Order (ECO) management
    • A new ECO application enables mold designers to manage an unlimited number of Engineering Change Orders while maintaining the integrity of previous design modifications. Cimatron's Global Expertise on Show at EuroMold

Cimatron Reveals New Machining Strategies at EMO

Cimatron Limited (NASDAQ and TASE: CIMT) announced today that it will demonstrate the recently released version of CimatronE- CimatronE 10 - at EMO Hannover 2011.

CimatronE is a CAD/CAM software solution for mold, tool and die makers as well as manufacturers of discrete parts. CimatronE 10, includes enhancements to all aspects of the solution. Enhancements to machining strategies enable users to achieve a higher surface quality, shorter machining times and longer tool life.

CimatronE 10 offers a new Helical Milling strategy, which is especially useful for milling all around steep cavities or cores, especially in electrodes. Helical Milling offers considerable surface quality advantages, providing a continuous toolpath with only one entry and exit point.

Tool makers will also achieve a higher surface quality with new improvements to CimatronE's touch of a button 5-Axis Tilting strategy, which now automatically creates smoother machine motions that also ensure a longer tool life. The Tilting strategy offers easy-to-program simultaneous milling, which is especially suitable for robust machining of parts with deep cavities, narrow ribs and tiny corner radiuses, using shorter and more rigid tools to achieve the best surface quality and reduce machining time.

CimatronE 10 also offers a new, easy-to-program 5-Axis Swarf Milling strategy for ruled surfaces (surfaces defined by a line driven along two curves). This is the second of two swarf milling strategies available in CimatronE; swarfing increases surface smoothness and shortens machining time by cutting with the side of the tool, rather than with the tip.

The Background Calculations capability, which allows users to continue working on a project as usual while toolpath calculations are processed in the background, will also be demonstrated at EMO. To further shorten NC programming time, Cimatron offers the patent pending SuperBox, a combined hardware/software device that greatly reduces the load on individual workstations, while increasing NC calculation speed to instantly boost NC productivity.

EMO will take place in Hannover on September 19-24, 2011. Cimatron GmbH will display CimatronE and GibbsCAM, Cimatron's software for production, in Hall 25, Stand H30.

CimatronE New Version on Show at INTEC

Cimatron Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Cimatron Limited (Nasdaq: CIMT), a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for mold, tool and die makers as well as manufacturers of discrete parts, has signed a partnership and distribution agreement with Atometric Inc., a provider of CNC micro-machining centers and contract micro-machining solutions.

As part of the collaborative relationship between the two companies, Cimatron has developed custom post-processors for Atometric's machines. In addition, Atometric is now authorized to bundle CimatronE with its micro-machining centers as well as use the software in its micro-machining contract manufacturing operations.

Cimatron Micro-Milling Software

The Cimatron micro-milling software enables efficient milling of jobs, using very small tools and working at tolerances as tight as 0.0001 mm, and using cutting tools as small as 10 micron (.00039"). Featuring exceptionally precise calculation of remaining stock that is accurate enough for micro-scale parts, the software enables the creation of safe and highly efficient micro-machining toolpaths, supporting high spindle speeds while producing superb surface quality. In addition, the Cimatron software enables toolmakers and manufacturers to take full advantage of 5-Axis capabilities to machine complex parts in the micro-milling environment.

Atometric's Micro-Precision Machining

Atometric delivers sub-micro precision machining centers that are factory-rugged, yet operable in an office, and range from 3-Axis to 4- and 5-Axis machines. Atometric's machines support spindle speeds of up to 200,000 rpm and feature an automatic tool changer with up to 35 tools per cartridge, maximizing productivity and minimizing idle time. Cimatron Limited (Nasdaq: CIMT), a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for mold, tool and die makers as well as manufacturers of discrete parts, announced that CimatronE will power a range of different milling machines at the IMTEX trade show in Bangalore, India, January 20th -26th 2011.

The machining will be done in conjunction with Bharat Fritz Werner Ltd. (BFW), a renowned machine tool builder in India. Cimatron and BFW work closely to provide their customers with optimal machining results.

CimatronE will power the machining of blades for the aerospace and civil engineering industries in the BFW booth (1A, A102), including a 4-Axis turbine blade and a 5-Axis Impeller. The blade will be cut with a continuous helical toolpath, working from a shaped stock for optimal machining times and a smooth surface finish. The impeller machining also maintains a very high quality polish free surface while using long tools and thin shanks to remove material between blades.

CimatronE offers a rich selection of machining strategies and dedicated applications for 2.5 to 5 Axis Milling. These include dedicated impeller machining applications that make it simpler for users to program optimal toolpaths that cut efficiently and safely in short cycle times and achieve a very high surface quality without polish.
