amerimold 2014 Review

Written by

amerimold – The Event for Mold Manufacturing - closed on June 12th, 2014, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI. The two-day tradeshow, technical conference and networking event featured a record 2,919 registrants representing 41 states and 29 countries.

“amerimold 2014 exceeded all of our expectations. More importantly, the record turn-out reaffirmed the value of the amerimold format and the strength of the mold manufacturing industry especially in Detroit, MI and Windsor, Ontario” said Executive Director, Allison Miller.

The amerimold exhibit hall included more than 135 exhibitors displaying products and services used for designing, building, injection molding and maintaining molds.

The 2014 amerimold technical conference consisted of three related tracks representing essential mold manufacturing processes – ENGINEER, BUILD, MAINTAIN. More than 50 industry experts presented on technologies ranging from mold design and additive manufacturing to automated die/mold machining and advanced mold maintenance strategies.

Completing the technical experience was the introduction of Thermoplastic Composites Conference for Automotive (TCC Auto). Presented by CompositesWorld and Plastics Technology, the debut technical conference saw automotive manufacturers, advanced materials companies and injection molders connecting to discuss trends for automobile light weighting and cost reduction.

Two annual amerimold traditions punctuated the professional networking offerings at this year’s event. The “Top 10 Reasons to Be a Moldmaker,” were announced onsite via a limited edition “Top 10” t-shirt. On the event’s opening evening, hundreds of attendees and exhibitors came together to celebrate the mold manufacturing industry at the annual Leadtime Leader Award ceremony and networking reception.

Speaking on amerimold’s future, Miller commented, “In 2011, we committed to making amerimold the event for mold manufacturing. The show has grown each year since and we are looking forward to developing more programs and more features that will benefit attendees, exhibitors, speakers and partners involved in amerimold.”

The 2014 campaign concluded with event producers announcing that amerimold will co-locate with Molding 2015 at Rosemont, IL’s Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, June 17-18, 2015.

Gardner Publications, Inc. (GPI) today announced a partnership with the National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA) to co-locate the NTMA Purchasing Fair with amerimold – the event for tool & mold making, molding and additive technologies, scheduled for June 13-14, 2012, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI.

The co-location connects two exclusive events to create a one-stop shop for tool and mold manufacturing professionals to find business, technology and sourcing solutions.

“Co-locating amerimold and the NTMA Purchasing Fair creates great opportunity for our combined audiences. Both events are dedicated to promoting the growth of North American manufacturing through networking and applied innovation. As a result, both events attract leaders in supplying and applying advanced manufacturing technologies. Bringing these groups together adds more value to two already strong events,” explained amerimold Managing Director, Allison Miller.

The event partnership expands both events to create an environment that delivers knowledge and opportunity on all sides of the manufacturing business.

The two-day amerimold tradeshow and technical conference will offer NTMA Purchasing Fair participants access to an exhibit hall featuring product technology suppliers and process innovation experts. Conversely, the NTMA Purchasing Fair will increase the participation of precision manufacturers and expand the networking component of amerimold.

Commenting on how the co-location expands the traditional Purchasing Fair format, NTMA COO, Rob Akers noted, “The mission of the NTMA and the NTMA Purchasing Fair is to help manufacturers improve their business. A big part of their business is product and process technology. Through this co-location we’re able to offer our members and attendees the opportunity to meet with technology vendors and technical experts to address operational and equipment challenges at a time when they’re already attending an event to meet with current and prospective customers.”

Added Gardner Publications, Inc. President Rick Kline, “The NTMA and its members are leaders in North American manufacturing. We are pleased to work together with them to create an event that benefits all sides of the tool and mold manufacturing business.”
