New Age Learning Introduces the 1st Affordable 3D Printer for the Classroom to NY and NJ

New Age Learning, a provider of interactive classroom technology to schools in the Northeast and businesses nationwide, today announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Advanced Classroom Technologies to launch and resell the 2BOT 3D ModelMaker™ to schools in New York and New Jersey.

“The digital natives of today receive information in ways the traditional classroom never expected. Advances in classroom technology have allowed interactive instruction including sound, video, and instantaneous student responses,” said John Byrne, managing partner of New Age Learning. “We are now offering the newest form of interactive learning by allowing students to create physical models or manipulatives from virtual data. From airplane wings to ancient pyramids to the creation of lithophanes, all curricula can be enhanced through physical modeling.”

According to recent research from Cornell University, “There is ample evidence that learning is enhanced through active experiences. A study of knowledge retention showed that only about 20% of knowledge is retained when only abstract conceptualization is involved, but as much as 90% of is retained when the concrete experience is involved.”

ModelMaker is as easy to use standard printer, allowing students of every age to experience learning in a whole new dimension. It utilizes low-cost foam boards so that classroom concepts become reality for less than $1.00 per model. Compared with rapid prototyping 3D printers, ModelMaker offers radical reductions in both the time and cost to fashion models. These printers have the ability to generate models at 1/20 the time and 1/20 the cost of competitive solutions.

“New Age Learning works closely with its customers to ensure that technology is implemented in a way that impacts learning,” said Jimmy Williamson, president of Advanced Classroom Technologies. “There are too many vendors that just ship or install and then disappear. We want our customers to know that we always have someone looking after them, someone like New Age Learning.”

The ModelMaker requires no routine maintenance other than vacuuming out the cuttings between jobs and it needs no lubrication adjustment. With the optional acoustic enclosure, it’s quiet enough for virtually any work environment.

A host of premade lesson plans are available on ModelMaker Nation.

New Age Learning provides interactive learning technology to K-12 schools, universities, museums, and corporate training centers nationwide.
