Metals Service Center Institute and National Safety Council Unveil Partnership Program

The Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) unveiled customized tools available to MSCI members through its partnership with the National Safety Council (NSC). These new resources are part of MSCI’s commitment to deliver relevant safety resources for its members.

The new tools available to MSCI members include:

  • Access to NSC safety experts
  • Local access to the Council’s valuable Advanced Safety Certificate program, the gold standard in safety training
  • Access to tools that will help member companies assess their own safety programs and safety professionals against industry competency models approved by the MSCI Safety Committee
  • Other valuable NSC training and information resources

The announcement was made at MSCI’s Safety Conference, collocated with the 2016 NSC Congress & Expo in Anaheim, California.

“Advocating for an industry-wide safety culture is a critical part of all that we do at MSCI,” said M. Robert Weidner, III, MSCI president & CEO. “At MSCI, we take partnership very seriously; for us it means building a long, lasting relationship. We believe in working with the very best, which is why we’ve chosen to partner with NSC, the recognized leader in safety.”

“For more than 100 years, NSC has been devoted to making our world safer,” added Deborah A.P. Hersman, NSC president & CEO. “We are pleased to join with MSCI as they elevate safety and bring it to their members. By blending their industry expertise with our expertise in safety, together we will help companies create strong, lasting safety cultures.”

Helping members improve their safety programs has been an important initiative for MSCI. The new resources announced today are in addition to the offerings already available to members including: the annual Safety Conference, a Safety Handbook, the Optimum Safety Helpline and the Safety Survey.
