3D Print Congress & Exhibition 2018

Written by

Launched in 2014, "3D Print- The event for additive manufacturing" has far exceeded everyone's expectations. In 4 years it has become the benchmark event and favorite get-together for all those involved in additive manufacturing in France.

Building on its stature, 3D Print is now taking the next step to expand its scope and interactions internationally.

"3D Print- The event for additive manufacturing" now becomes "3D Print Congress & Exhibition". It is a name that clearly announces the renewed ambition, with the emphasis on trade fair, content and international dimension.

Over 3 days, this event will as ever make the most of the massive presence of key stakeholders from major international corporations and start-ups alike, all with a stake in additive manufacturing. A true factory will be on show, with machines and equipment in operation, for a totally immersive experience of 3D printing.

As for the Congress, in simultaneous translation it will present personalities, research centers and organizations from leading countries in 3D printing, and deliver a global vision reflecting the issues surrounding these technologies.

The workshops will offer an in-depth look at the technical facets, and will constitute a training mechanism such as today is needed in this domain, where innovation is constant.

Keys to understanding, wider vision, demonstrations: 3D Print Congress & Exhibition targets, as before, two levels of participants on a mix-and-match basis: ultra-specialists in additive manufacturing intending to bring their knowledge up-to-date, and manufacturers who are starting to take an interest in these technologies with a view to possibly exploiting them.

June 5-7, 2018

Lyon Eurexpo, France

The 4th edition of 3D PRINT, the biggest trade show in France dedicated exclusively to additive manufacturing, will be held June 13-16 at the Lyon Eurexpo. In just three years, this trade show has tripled its number of exhibitors and visitors!

3D PRINT has become a meeting point for the sector’s biggest companies this year and will host 180 exhibitors covering the entire additive manufacturing process. The highest concentration of major additive manufacturing actors in one place in France, this show offers a global vision of technologies and innovations complete with machine and software demonstrations.

True to its aim of bringing visitors up to speed with AM possibilities and providing input for manufacturer planning and reflection, 3D PRINT will soon be announcing its program of high calibre conferences and workshops open to all visitors: 90 speakers coming from as far as Singapore, Israel, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and the US, not to mention 30 technical workshops.

This year, 3D PRINT is once more the additive manufacturing must-do in France, the complete event that enables manufacturers to make the right decisions and set the right objectives for cutting edge manufacturing technologies.

To meet the current needs of this fast-growing market, it will be hosting 180 exhibitors, including machines, software, services, a wide range of technologies, major groups and start-ups. 3D PRINT is an exceptional 4-day showcase for the varied and ever-changing industrial landscape of additive manufacturing.

Binc Industries, Cadvision, Canon, Materialise, Prodways, Polyshape, Renishaw, Stratasys, Solidthinking and more will be back this year. Joining them for the first time will be newcomers such as Ansys, Gaches Chimie Specialités, Polyrepro, Zeiss, Tongtai Group, Faro, Wacker Chimie AG-Aceo and Repmo, to name a few. In fact, around 20% first-time companies will enhance the show with their know-how in the fields of chemistry, software, transformation, measurement systems, and more.

3D PRINT 2017 will also be held jointly with FIP Solution Plastique, the largest plastics industry trade show in France.

The program for this year’s show is more promising than ever and will address the issues that interest manufacturers most; no matter what their activity sector or how much additive manufacturing is integrated into their processes.

The program is as eclectic as the visitors themselves covering a wide range of themes, informing varying levels of expertise, and featuring speakers with myriad experiences and expertise.

Best practices for integrating additive manufacturing into processes, highly technical industry-specific workshops, legal implications, impacts on the supply chain, topology or post-process and finishing operations, every visitor can find the content they need most.

Many well-known experts will be speaking, such as Shlomo Magdassi from the University of Jerusalem presenting new materials, Thierry Thomas, Vice-President of Safran Additive Manufacturing, focusing on metal additive manufacturing, as well as Dr. Christophe Marquette, Research Director at the CNRS (French National Scientific Research Centre), Christophe Eschenbrenner, Digital Supply Chain Manager at ALSTOM and Julien Guillen, Leader Additive Manufacturing B’TWIN DECATHLON, to name a few.

Visitors can attend industry-specific workshops on the main sectors spearheading additive manufacturing such as construction, medical and transportation. These workshops provide insight specific to each of these industries, based on live experiments and presentations by recognised professionals.

Another featured sector will be Additive Manufacturing and Sports Performance, with the participation of Kevin Sireau, top-flight track cycling athlete, three-time team sprint world champion and former world record holder for the 200m. At the Rio Olympics in 2016, Kevin used 3D printed handlebars. His goal was to improve three different aspects of his performance: ergonomics, aerodynamics and rigidity. Were these goals met? What are the objectives of tomorrow’s athletes? Find out the answers to these questions and more on June 13 at 11 a.m.

Exhibitors will contribute to the program content by proposing no fewer than 30 technical workshops throughout the 4 days! They will unveil their latest innovations and experiences through pragmatic presentations and direct exchange with visitors. The very best way to grasp the evolutions and application potential of these technologies!

A visit to 3D PRINT 2017 would not be complete without taking a look at the demonstration and experience area, one of the event’s most popular features.

The Soft’n Live area will allow visitors to test for themselves the latest software and optimization programs used for additive manufacturing. It’s the best way to make an investment decision! Due to ever-increasing demand, this space will double in size this year to welcome a wider range of software and exhibitors who want to run demonstrations for visitors.

This year, once again, many printers can be seen in operation at the various stands; and one will even be offered as a door prize! In fact, a number of prizes will be given out during the trade show, and every visitor can try their luck at winning the 3D SHOP brand 3D printer.

The annual 3D PRINT Award will spotlight the best initiative integrating additive manufacturing by an exhibitor. A jury of professionals will award this prize on Tuesday, June 13 at 5 p.m. in the conference room.

3D PRINT visitors can even discover 3D food printing, in partnership with 3Desserts, at a tasting area dedicated to their chocolate creations!! The Choc Creator will be up and running all 4 days of the trade show, “printing out” original shapes that will amaze by their artistry and complexity.

3D PRINT 2017 is an event that reflects the importance of the technological, economic and human challenges of additive manufacturing in today’s world. In 4 days, it provides a comprehensive view of the state-of-the-art and enables manufacturers from every sector to make the right decisions for their future.
