ROMER Absolute Arm Nominated for 2012 PRODEX Award

With the ROMER Absolute Arm, Hexagon Metrology has entered the round of the last ten contestants for the 2012 PRODEX award. This is the most important Swiss prize for production products and is awarded for the third time by Vogel Business Media AG in partnership with Exhibit & More AG.

The enhanced ROMER Absolute Arm with integrated laser scanner is now more rapid compared to previous versions, offering an acquisition speed of up to 50,000 points per second. This means that the user can move the scanner significantly faster across the object to be measured compared to previously, while maintaining high data quality that is typical for ROMER. This also applies when the surfaces are difficult to scan, for example with high gloss carbon fibre. This means that users can now scan up to 66% more surface area in the same amount of time as with previous models of the ROMER Absolute Arm with integrated laser scanner. Now there is also an option for wireless scanning: with the help of the wireless scanning pack all arms with integrated scanner can be operated via WiFi. In addition, the battery system has a facility for replacing the battery while the machine is running, thus facilitating uninterrupted wireless operation anywhere.

PRODEX 2012 will be held from November 20-23, 2012 at the Basel Exhibition Centre. Hexagon Metrology presents the ROMER Absolute Arm at stand H01 in hall 1.1. The PRODEX award will be announced during the exhibitor evening event on November 22, 2012. In addition to the ROMER Absolute Arm from the ultra high-precision measuring machine series, Hexagon Metrology will exhibit the new Leitz Reference Xe and the Leitz Infinity as well as the Optiv Classic 321 GL tp multisensor measuring machine. From the portable metrology range, the company will be exhibiting the two Leica Absolute Trackers AT401 and AT901.
