Harmony Robotics

Harmony Robotics (1)

Harmony Robotics wants to make a life-changing documentary about human integrated robotics and how they can open a new world for those with disabilities, by granting handicapped people expanded abilities and more day-to-day independence.

The documentary will feature Dr. Tom Wachtel, a Navy Flight Surgeon who served in Vietnam. On top of writing nine books, he was an academic Trauma Director for 27 years. However, in 2008, Dr. Wachtel suffered a neck injury that left him paralyzed. The documentary, “Transcendent Robotics,” will show how advances in technology, such as human integrated robots, can be brought to Dr. Wachtel, and how it will impact his lifeIt will also show how non-invasive, non-surgical advances, which can be used by amputees, those who have lost the use of their limbs or amputees who cannot wear prosthetics, can markedly improve the lives of men, women, and children all over the world.

The documentary will showcase these human integrated technologies, and how they offer a promising future for all those who have lost the ability to use their arms. Harmony Robotic’s approach is to enable a person to control a robotic limb using non-surgical, non-body-worn methods such as computer vision and eye tracking. We want to present a real-life experience rather than a complicated technical discussion.

In order to bring this inspiring documentary to life, Harmony Robotics started a Kickstarter. Our goal is to raise $60,000 by July 27, 2015. These funds will be used to purchase hardware, cover travel, living expenses, and construct a mounting system for the robotic arms as well as the robot’s non-invasive, non-surgically-placed sensors.

A kickstarter project is an “all-or-nothing” deal. If  the campaign does not reach the funding goal of $60,000, the project cannot move forward. Every pledge counts–no matter the amount! We welcome your interest and support at every level. This is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a very special and unique campaign, one that could bring so much improvement into the daily life of handicapped men, women, and children.
