Product Release: Genus Designer 2011 for SolidWorks

Genus Software announced today the sixth major release of their design automation product: Genus Designer 2011, a fully integrated add-in to the SolidWorks 3D mechanical CAD system. “This is our most comprehensive product to date and enhances our exclusive new breed of design automation, moving beyond merely reconfiguring parametric assemblies.” said Tim Glavin, President of Genus Software. Glavin said “This is a true design system. By integrating engineering process knowledge, we help our customers to automatically propose and make trade-offs among alternate designs, then immediately generate the proposals, quotes, CAD models, drawings and various reports required for manufacturing.”

The newest version of Genus Designer touts a host of enhancements among which are improvements to the knowledge editor, additional support for writing reports to databases, and enhancements for performance. “Along with support for both 32 and 64-bit platforms, we’ve made significant improvements to our diagrammatic rule editor making it even easier to quickly capture and automate product assembly and design process rules. No other product on the market can do this” said Chris Isble, Genus Software’s Product Manager.
