Forecast 3D adds Fused Deposition Modeling with addition of a Fortus 900mc by Stratasys

Forecast 3D is pleased to announce the addition of a new Fortus 900mc FDM machine from Stratasys Corp. The Fortus 900mc offers an extremely large build envelope, measuring 36” x 24” x79.8”.

The new machine will be able to print parts in a variety of materials, including ABS (in both black and white), Ultem 9085, PC-ABS, Polycarbonate, PPSF Polyphenylsulfone, Polycarbonate and PC-ISO. In addition to the machine, Forecast 3D also added STRATASYS’ vapor finishing chamber, which will allow parts to receive vapor polishing as an added functional and more attractive finish.

“We believe in FDM technology as a leading Additive Manufacturing technology, and the Fortus 900 machine is the perfect addition to give our customers another option to bring designs to life,” says Donovan Weber, VP of Operations at Forecast. “We can now create very large components rapidly with one of our nine available production thermoplastics.”

News of the Fortus purchase comes just weeks after Forecast 3D launched their new website along with a new “My Account” feature, which allows customers the ability to maintain a personalized interface with all quotes and orders. The newest feature to the website includes an instant file conversion software interface, allowing users to upload files from nearly any design software output without the need to convert to .stl.

Specifically, the new upload and convert feature will allow customers to upload files in .sldprt, .igs, .stp, and native ProE & SolidWorks extensions and the site will instantly convert the file to an .stl for quick quote throughput. Once uploaded, a request for quote for every available service and material can also be selected.
