Creative Spark 3D Print Conference & Symposium 2015

Creative Spark launched a conference on 3D printing technology to take place in October this year as part of ID 2015.

Attending the launch were industry sponsors Mcor Technologies, manufacturer of the paper-based Selective Deposition Lamination (SDL) 3d printer. Co-founders Conor and Deirdre MacCormack said "We are delighted to help in bringing key exponents of 3D printing technology to Dundalk and to support Creative Spark as it shines a light on this rapidly evolving technology."

Speaking about the conference Sarah Daly, Executive Director of Creative Spark, said "This conference will focus on the growth and availability of 3D printing globally. It will explore applications for 3D printing for designers and makers, and for businesses in every sector from medicine to food."

Featuring an exciting line up of international speakers, including Francis Bitonti from New York, Ann Marie Shillito from Edinburgh and Keith Brown from Manchester, the conference will explore themes of collaboration and social innovation through design; it will look at how designers, makers, businesses and communities are currently engaging with the 3D print revolution and how it can maximise the benefits to industry, education and community.

Conference Dates: October 27-31, 2015

The 5-day conference will offer several strands:

Tuesday October 27th - Friday October 30th: 4 days of workshops offering hands-on access to 3D modelling and printing.

Saturday October 31st: A 1-day symposium exploring the future for 3D printing in Ireland and internationally.
