3D Systems Delivers Integrated Design-To-Print Experience

3D Systems Corporation (NYSE: DDD) announced today the immediate availability of Print3D, a powerful, interactive CAD plugin tool that makes the design, quoting and ordering of parts as fast and easy as 1-2-3.

Print3D is a free plug-in that integrates seamlessly with all major 3D CAD programs to provide real-time design feedback and quotes directly within the CAD environment.  Print3D can currently be downloaded for use with Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and Alibre Design®. Non-CAD users can also benefit from this tool by downloading the stand alone plug-in.  Print3D provides dynamic design cost feedback and instant access to 3D Systems’ complete on-demand parts services directly from most commonly used CAD packages.

“Print3D revolutionizes the customer experience, eliminating the need to export .STL files or upload files to an external site,” said Patrick Hunter, Vice President and General Manager for 3D Systems on-demand parts services.  “Equipped with the Print3D plug-in directly in their CAD program, users can get real-time interactive part costing information with every design decision they make, providing them with instant feedback, ordering convenience and rapid service and response.”

Customers involved in the testing and development of Print3D agree.  “Experiencing the instant quote update along with every design decision I make is amazing,” said Beau Robertson, Manufacturing Engineer at Light & Motion Industries, an early user of the Print3D service.  “I particularly like the ability to quote an entire assembly of parts all in one shot.  This is definitely a game changing tool that is much easier than emailing out quote requests or uploading my separate designs to a website.  It made my design smarter and much more cost effective and when I was ready, the quote was already right there in front of me.”
